Could this be herpes?

Could this be herpes?

I am a 38 year old male.  I recently had two sexual encounters with two different woman.  The first was seven weeks ago and oral and vaginal sex was done.  The second was four weeks ago and anal sex was done.  My symptoms are that I have anal itching, abdominal pressure(mainly on the right side)and tingling on my buttocks.  These are all symptoms that I have read on the internet as possible signs of herpes. However, I do not have pain while I urinate, no discharge and I do not have any sores on my penis.  Should I be worried about herpes or could this be another STD?  Is it too soon to know and what other signs should I be looking for?  Thank you in advance.

Your symptoms don't sound like herpes or any other STD.  The most common STD signs to watch for are exactly the ones you mentions (painful urination, urethral discharge, genital area sores).  But if you want still further reassurance, see an STD-knowledgeable health care provider for more detailed discussion of your symptoms; screening urine tests for gonorrhea and chlamydia; and blood tests for HSV and perhaps syphilis and HIV.  But I am >99% certain you have none of those.

Good luck--  HHH, MD

One additional comment to add to my question.  For as long as I can remember I have had four needle point size purple dots (two on each side of opening of my penis where urine comes out).  Last week one of the dots became raised, became hard and then fell off.  There was no pain or swelling just simply there and then gone in two days. I am unsure if this means anything?  Plese advise

hi worried...
I am so sorry to pst in your thread...I have been trying several times to create my own thread but I couldnt get a chance to come on time. Please forgive me.

Dr...I am so sorry of hijacking other people's thread.

I had protected vaginal sex 8 weeks back. Tested negative for pcr-dna at 25 days and 31 days. Negative for antibody at the end of 5 weeks and 7 weeks 3 days. Is it confirmed that I am hiv -ve? Also even after this why do I have fatigue and body pains since week 3 of my exposure? ANy suggestions?

Thanks

worried:  I doubt those lesions or the possible change in them means anything, but see a health care provider to be sure.

pcmania:  You questions have been answered in detail in numerous previous threads.  I don't know why you have fatigue, but it isn't HIV.
