Crabs and intestinal pain

I haven't had sex with - or been close to - a man in 5 years.  I contracted crabs 3 years ago and they keep coming back.  They'll go dormant - seemingly during the winter and then they come back!  The last two times I've had them, I've tried getting rid of them by using vaseline (as they're in my eyelashes, too) and after a few days of that, my abdomen becomes bloated and I have extreme pain when urinating and having bowel movements.  It's definitely not my imagination!  I read on another website that crabs can go inside but I'm too embarrassed to go to my PCP.  Can you please recommend what to do about this?

You can't get rid of crabs with vaseline.  I think it is best you go to your doctor.  I've never heard of crabs going inside.  I'm going to have to research that.

Here is cdc information for you:

I recommend you wash ALL of your sheets and clothing in HOT water.  Or get rid of them completely and start new.
