Did he cheat?

My husband tested positive for chlamydia last week. He was treated and his symptoms were painful urination and discharge from his penis. We have a ten month old daughter. I was screened for chlamydia in may of 06 and tested negative. I have had no other partners. I was tested two days ago and will find out tommorrow if I test positive as well. My husband says he has not cheated in any form. Could he be a silent carrier and not have cheated on me? Should I believe him or not? Can I know for sure by testing him for antibodies with a blood draw if he has had chlamydia or it is newly aquired.

Sorry, I have just spent over 5 years working for private clinic MD's in America.... I was not in the peanut pool, I just in the doctor pool (None MD). I did see a lot of poorly paid staff, if anything I was an employee advocates for them.

I do not doubt for a moment that there are higher standards and higher pay in a hospital setting....  but that is striclty based on "hope" rather than experience. But then again, what is the rate of Staf infection in Hospitals?

Contrary to wearajimmy's diatribe - clinics really do have standards for disinfecting medical supplies.  You also didn't mention that your husband had had anything done to him lately anyways.  same with it's not likely you were infected with chlamydia when you had your baby or had your follow up appointment due to improperly cleaned medical supplies.  Contracting a bacterial std in that manner would be one of the least likely scenerios anyways.

Symptomatic chlamydia showing up this long into a relationship would be very unusual.  You didn't mention how long you two were together but I'm assuming it's a few years from your post.

There aren't any blood tests to show how long someone's been infected with chlamydia or not.

If you look there are many posts such as this... it makes me wonder if the doctors are cleaning their tools correctly.

Come now, they don't even clean their tools, they usually hire young kids that are williing to work for peanuts...  If you really investigate the field of health care, you will find the top paid individuals in the US, pay their employees the lowest wages. Most MD employees do not even have health insurance themselves....

My point is, you pay your staff peanuts, you get monkeys.

Any how, did your husband cheat?  Possibly, and possibly not.  If he did, I imagine he learned his lesson.... I would hope.
