Doctor is even stumped

It has been 37 days since exposure/encounter. However, I am usure as to what I was exposed to??? I started noticing a irriated burning feeling at and in my urethra about 24-36 hours after exposure. About 8 days later, I had one big episode of discharge Clear like egg whites. Thats the only  discharge I have seen.  However the irritating burning feeling contunued so I went to Doctor who put me on Doxycycline for 14 days. He said urine test test was neg but drew blood to test for Chlamydia
After one week test came back pos for Chlamydia. I told Doctor that Doxy was making me itch alot so he switched me to Cipro for 10 days. After about 5 days of cipro I told him I wasn't doing any better so He finally gave me 2000mg Azythromiacin to take all at once. That was 12 days ago and I still have this burning feeling that comes and goes. But is there most of the time. I have noticed no bumps, sores etc, just have that feeling like it is dripping but nothing there. Very annoying!!  Could it be Herpes?
Maybe something non-STD? How about yeast?

Oh and chlamydia is not "elusive."

I agree.  There are ways to read the blood test results to know if they are from an old infection (I don't know how they tell that - not many people in the US use that to test).

Its ridiculous that he is still going by this blood test result and not doing a urine test.

I agree totally that its time for a urologist.

I think you had plenty of antibiotics to take care of chlamydia, and most other bacterial STD's. I think its time for another opinion....

Well I went back to DR. He told me a long story about how elusive chlamydia can be. He also decided to do another blood test and lectured me on how the blood test is just as accurate as urine or swab. He has put me on 30 days of levaquin and he said if that does not help he will refer me to a urologist. Meanwhile, the blood test came back ,still positive. Is it true that the blood test only tells you if you have had it at some point in your life and not necessarily a current infection?  OK 10 days of doxy, 10+ days of cipro, 2 separate 2 gram doses of Zithromax and now I have been on Levaquin for 9 days now. This stuff has to be dead by now???? Could the infection have caused scarring or inflamation that is being agravated by all these Antibiotics. Why does my doctor not seem to know the right tests etc? He is suppose to be this well liked and respected DR.
He says there is no way my symptoms are prostate related.  Can't wwait to get a new DR but that may take some time!

I would say so.   You've had enough antibiotics to kill just about anything.

I am trying to see if I can get into a VA clinic to see another Dr.  But do you think I am clear of Chlamydia or NGU etc. at this point?  Can I rule out STD?

Urrgghhh - you need a prostate exam.  If your doctor is trying the quick fix, you need another doctor.

I can't say for sure its a prostate thing, but that is a BASIC thing to do with your symptoms, and not responding to the meds.

New update:  Went back to Dr.  told him I had no discharge. However had burning feeling on tip of penis and behind testicles. Seems to be more intense in the evening hours. He did a 20 second exam of my privates. He perscribed 2 more grams of Azythromiacin and then gave me some stuff that turns my pee dark orange. He said it would dull the pain. However it does not dull the pain at all. After all these antibiotics and no further sexual contact, could I possibly still have ngu/chlamydia that might be causing this feeling?  What else could be causing a burning at the tip that comes and goes. It also burns after urination but not during. I am so on edge with this and my doctor just seems to go for the quick fix.. That has not worked yet!!

No, other than the basics - ibuprofen, tylenol, etc.

I know - lousy answer.  :(

Thanks, for the input. UPDATE:  Seems like the burning feeling comes and goes. It becomes more intense in the evening hours and when bladder is full. Also seems like I am urinating more often than normal but in smaller quantities.

It may have been chlamydia compounded by a non-specific urethritis (also sexually transmitted) or prostatitis .  It doesn't sound anything like herpes (you would get bumps and blisters, possibly accompanies by fever and muscle pain).  If your symptoms are still there, it might be a good idea to visit a urologist as they have more frequent exposure to different urological conditions.
