Doxycycline question?

Hello doctors,

I have a question regarding chlamydia. I'm from europe but i am on a holiday and cannot go to the doctor for 2 weeks.
I had a possible hand genital exposure after taking the condom off, with a female escort. This happend 3 weeks ago. Last week i had a stinging in my penis and i was scared for chlamydia. I never had discharge and maybe its my anxiety here speaking. I had with me a package of doxycyline EG 100 mg.  I took it last wednesday. but i read that it is required for 7 days 2 pils a day. And in my package there were only 10 pils. So i took 2 pils a day for 5 days. So i had also with me a package of zitromax and yesterday i took 1.5 g at once. I know its stupid but i was so scared. I have 2 questions:
1) Would 5 days of doxycycline and on day 6 the 1.5 g zithromax cure chlamydia if present?
2) I used zithromax back in july for an ear infections. Would this build up resistance against chlamydia due to overuse of zithromax?

Welcome to our Forum.  It is not clear to me that you needed treatment of any sort.  STDs are not transmitted by had to genital contact, either directly or indirectly.  that said, if you had chlamydia, you would have been treated at this time.  Five days of doxycycline would probably have cured the infection and 1.5g of azithromycin of 50% more azithromycin than is required for chlamydial therapy.  Wither way you would be cured.

Probably not.

Yes, I would not worry about sex.  You do not know that you were infected and even if you were, you took effective therapy.  EWH

1) when is it ok for me to have sex again? Tomorrow is it one week ago that i started the doxy for 5 days and yesterday the zithromax 1,5 gr
