E COLI UTI

Hi
I am a gay guy. I had unprotected anal sex with a guy as the penetrative partner and a few days later had dysuria and went to get a urine culture done - it showed E Coli.

I took some antibiotics and I am fine. I was told it's normal to have E Coli in your gut? Does the guy whom I had sex with need to be treated?

Please help.
