I had a pain in the right testicle. specifically could feel more pain at the kind of lobe behind the testicle (I learnt later that that is where the epididymis joins with the testicle) The ultrasound showed a swelling of the epididymis tail...thus the diagnosis of epididymitis.
I experiencing this in rather acute episodes after my vascectomy. I have found no relief from meds and my docs had no solid advise. For me I switched to boxers and time has dulled the issue.
Were you ever diagnosed with gonorrhea or chlamydia? What did the doc say caused this? I'm having pain in my left testicle and don't know why. As I said I was diagnosed with gonorrhea about 5 weeks ago and doc gave me medication. I got tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia again last thurs, and results showed negative. Can I get epidimitis and not have gonorrhea/chlamydia?
Another question is, are you experiencing "pain" or is it "discomfort?" In another words, I feel pressure in my scrotum and as if someone kicked me there. Do you have these feelings? Does it hurt when you physically touch it?
No, never diagnosed with G or CL but yes, I can feel pain when I touch the lobe behind the testicle.
My current test - Urine analysis and semen culture also came out with no indication of bacteria. I'm told these bacteria are very elusive and these days u need to take upto 6 weeks of antibiotics at times :-(
Tommy...u should see a doctor...
Hope someone with some experience with a stubborn epididymitis can tell me my symptoms are ok and nothing to be scared of :-(
Hey gopo, i had a couple of follow up questions for you.
1) Did your doc ever tell you what caused your epididymitis? Was it a sexually transmitted thing?
2) Do you have swelling of your testicles? My doc said that if I had epididymitis, i'd have physical swelling of my testicles and they would be very sensitive to the touch. Mine are neither swollen nor sensitive to the touch, but they just hurt from the "inside."
I guess I should go get an ultrasound to make sure. Thanks
no i did not have swelling of the testicle but there was swelling of the epididymis as the ultrasound showed. anyways, I am continuing the doxy for 4 weeks now. There is improvement but still not ok :-(
how did ur ultrasound go? How old r u by the way? and what part of the world?
Were your testicles phsyically swollen? what symptoms were you having?
