If this is on your mind so much then test, but you really don't have a huge concern.
Sorry to bother u again, but i consider your advice as reliable. Do i need testing for Herpes, syphilis and HIV. no symptoms appeared after 2 months.
AJ not here at the moment...but I no reason to test unless to ease your mind.
Just so you know, i have been tested for gonorrhea and NGU on JAN 15 and results came back negative. Now i am worried abt HSV, should i go and get tested.
Its been almost two months since my encounter, do i need to get tested for HSV even if no symptoms appeared.
That is not symptoms of an STD...kidney pain and back pain.
See a Dr for those issues.
I have to drink water and urinate every 30mins otherwise there is a slight burning sensation at the tip of my penis OR slight pain in testicles. I am not at all as anxious as i was but even after 5 days of encounter why do i have to take in over 5 litres of water in a day. Secondly, i feel slight pain in my kidneys at my back if i dont take that much water.
On the second day Urine Feme was normal, microorganism test (swabs taken from urethra) came out negative on the third day.
HPV is not a risk from oral sex.
Check out www.ashastd.org for more info on stds and transmission.

OK lets all just breathe.
Fa - I don't know what doctors you have heard that oral sex and hiv is a big risk for anyone, but its not. http://www.aidsmap.com/en/news/2AF5DF5C-ECEF-4854-80BA-09F86B483A02.asp
For receiving oral sex, you are at risk for the following ONLY- gonorrhea, syphilis, NGU and genital herpes type 1. If you've ever had a cold sore, or have tested positive for hsv1, you don't need to worry about genital hsv1 unless she had an active, VISIBLE cold sore.
The risks for oral sex are less than those for genital sex.
Some things to remember -
~ No need to check your genitals more than once a day. If you do it more, you could just irritate the skin, introduce other bacteria, and just feed that nasty anxiety.
~ Most sex workers don't have STDs and work to keep it that way.
~ Condoms work.
glad to know im not the only idiot. i had similar thing last week with unprotected oral. within 10 seconds of the event i had deep regret and have been freaking out since then, checking myself for herpes every hour. i even say a little prayer before i unzip my pants when i go to the bathroom, hoping nothing has popped up. it's been 5 days and i havent seen anything abnormal. though it's so weird how keenly aware i am now of every sensation. i dont think ive had a single erection since then i've been so freaked. the girl didnt have any obvious cold sores and has good teeth (for what that's worth). i guess you can still get it from aymptomatic shedding. since shes a stripper though ive been worried. it am kicking myself for doing it. i was not expecting it and she was pretty hot, how could i say no? damn myself!! i wonder when i can feel like i'm in the clear? after 1 week?
Can i have HPV from the above encounter. I never touched her genitals and mine as well. She never touched hers and then mine. Intercourse lasted for 10sec with condom. Before and after that she and i washed our bodies with soap. i never rubbed my genitals with hers. The only thing could be that she was on top for 10 seconds but their is a possibility that that her genitals never would have touched my pubic area. Can please you elaborate on that.
Blood test for Herpes is not reliable before six weeks or so. Hence whatever will be the result of the test, its not gonna calm my nerves. According to some doctors Unprotected Oral Sex with a sex worker puts one on High risk of contracting HIV and STDs. These conflicting arguments are driving me crazy. Any help in this regard would be certainly appreciated to calm my nerves. I promise i would not raise any other question after this.
No. Obviously doing a study that intentionally requires someone to have sex with someone in the midst of a herpes outbreak is unethical.
AJ
Ok Thank You... The numbers on the internet are overwhelming... you have given me piece of mine.. and when I get the full results back by Friday.. I will put this all to bed.
Do you know numbers if she DID have sores (I could see either way) and used a condom what the chances are?
Well, you can, but the chances are really low.
Let me put it to you this way...
If you had a long term girlfriend who had hsv2, and all you did was avoid sex during an outbreak, the chances of you getting it are about 4% over the course of a year.
If you used condoms, the chance is about 2%.
So take 2% for a year, and the chances from a one time protected encounter with someone who had no sores is really very low.
Aj
AJ,
I hear you.. I do... and I am getting myself ALL worked up.. I know. There is so much propagnda on the internet, that says you can still get Herpes, even when you use a condom.
I know it's probably a scary tactic.
OK guys - you have got to calm down.
The chances of getting anything from a one time protected encounter is so slim that you are worrying for nothing. I promise you that if there was a risk here, I would tell you.
Gonorrhea and chlamydia tests are accurate at about 3 days.
Checking your penis 20x a day will only feed into your anxiety, and cause irritation, which will only feed into your anxiety even more. Once a day is plenty.
I have a feeling that this anxiety level is not new to either of you, and you both need to focus on getting help for that, rather than the extremely low possibility of getting an std from a protected encounter.
Aj
I am 100% in the same boat as you.... Same EXACT situation happened to me... I am still waiting for my Blood and Urine Test. I am not worried about HIV, but I am about herpes. I check my Penis like 20 times a day... no Symtoms. The tip of Penis hurts too... I believe it is from Partying so hard on Vacation and going to the Bathroom 100X a day. I swear to God if he gets me through this I will NEVER do that again!
Thank you very much, just to let you know when i was narrating the encounter to my doc my pulse rate was very fast. It was like more than 100, and my doc was surprised. I said i am very anxious at the moment.
Just one more thing, how long should we wait before taking swab test from urethra. As i was tested just after three days, it is not reliable enough to conclude something.
You are at NO risk for HIV. You had protected sex, and oral sex is a very teeny tiny, if at all, a risk for HIV. Put HIV right out of your mind.
Herpes doesn't cause pain at the tip of your penis. If the pain went away with drinking water, you were probably a little bit dehydrated, and that might have irritated your bladder and urethra.
You are really at very low risk for an std here, and if you can't sleep, or eat, anxiety is your problem, not this sexual encounter.
