FREAKING OUT

Day 1- have oral sex (1st time) with my boyfriend (he had sex 1 before) the room was FREEZING that night. Morning =  spitting up blood. When your sick and you spit up green stuff it was blood.  My sinus were all dried blood. Never had a nose bleed in my life.  Talked to nurse on phone she taught it was prob just the room temp. DAY2 - completely lose my voice from yelling. Sore throat.  I wake up in the middle of the night can barley swallow. DAY3- I wake up swollen feeling like there is a ball in my throat. I go to DR.  She said it just looked like a little something on my one tonsil and she said ill give u a throat culture to be sent out and gave me a Azithromycin for the meantime. Well when the nurse came back in I had to ask.  i asked about oral sex and she said ya,u can even get Chlamydia or others but hopefully not. I freak.  Looked in my mouth and it looks very similar to a canker soar. Pretty painful.  Day 4-not one side anymore. I feel like there are sores or something down in my throat farther now and I cant see the sore on the side but it could be hiding. I have also been spitting up yellow and lil green stuff but I dont feel sick really.  I mean I am tired but I was just in Vegas and I have some aches but I worked out hard yesterday.  So who knows. My BF has never been tested or seen anything on him but he is pretty conservative guy and feels terrible but doesnt think it is a possibility. Is an STD possible, Can one show up in 2-3 day, If so will the Z-PAC cure it?

Your symptoms had nothing to do with your sexual adventures the night before.  STDs do not cause the symptoms you describe--definitely not the sinus/discharge symptoms, and STDs rarely cause sore throat either.  Second, no STD can cause symptoms the next day after exposure; it always takes at least 2-3 days.  You caught a cold, nothing more.

Your nurse was wrong about oral sex and chlamydia.  Chlamydial infections of the mouth and throat are rare, even after oral sex.  And in the rare occasions chlamydia occurs in the throat, it causes no symptoms--no sore throat, nothing.  (Same for gonorrhea.)  I doubt you needed the azithromycin (colds are due to viruses, which do not respond to antibiotics)--but if you happned to have chlamydia, that treatment would have cleared it up.

Canker sores are not due to STD.  As you probably have found in the past, sometimes they are triggered by colds.  There might be a theoretical possibility that the sore was due to oral herpes, but that seems very unlikely.

In other words, I believe you have no STD problem to worry about, and there is no reason to suppose your partner is infected or is at risk for anything.  But of course if your symptoms persist, or if they return, follow up with your health care provider.

The only other ? i had was about the sores that came 2 days later....could it have been another STD?  I figure form what you said no but I am just rying to lower my anxiety....Thanks so much again

I understand why you didnt answer my other question but things have changed big time.   I know still have a sore on the one side and i believe i have more on the oher or down in my throat and then today I know have lumps on the back of my tongue not painful at all just gross looking. No puss coming out or anything like that.  The pain of the sore throat is almost gone yet the sores are still there.  What could this be?  Please answer if possible!
