False Positive On Lymes Disease Test?

by sam6386, Jul 05, 2009 12:21AM
I had first got sick on May 19th, I went to my physician, I had swollen glands on both sides on my neck (very big) and also tonsilitious, I was also very achy, from knees down and very stiff/bothersome neck... I was scared for everything so I told the Dr to see if I had other swollen glands she had said no, a few days later I went back and she took a blood test, she had called me and told me I was positive for Lymes disease (my abdominal, wholeeeee area hurts/bothers me, I have heard Lyme likes cartalige and all but im scared I could have gotten Hep C now. (when she tested my blood she had said eveything else was normal, including liver. but that was through a blood test.) Could my Lymes be a false positive? I keep going crazy here. (Also tested for HIV and Herpes both also came back negative. .. I also went to my GYNO in the beginning of ( I believe it was the 4th of June)  to get a pap smear she told me recently she had checked for STDs (making it seem like she checked for all and that I was negative on them) A few days after that I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend once, and after that we have been having protected vaginal sex, and I will continue to do so. (Last time we had unprotected vaginal sex was June 11th) I have had UNPROTECTED ORAL sex most of the time giver (no ejaculation in mouth and once reciever)... A few days ago I ended up getting long stringy discharge from my vagina after a long walk and after I went to pee during the shower I was taking, this ended up coming out...I was really scared and worried but I could not call the GYNO because it was late at night and they were closed. The next morning I had a tiny bit on my underwear then it had stopped. I wiped down there kind of hard the next few days (to make sure I had gotten it all out) and it seemed to cause irritaion... not a lot just a little and after this Ive experianced clear discharge (like water, making my underwear wet and uncomfortable.) this has happened before to be but seems to be a little more then usual or making because I am noticing it more. I am also on Doxycycline for Lymes Disease which they/I believe I have. And have been on this for a little over 3 weeks...I have also had abnormal stools soft/then hard and had bleeding twice in the rectal area one right after another about 3 days ago...a few days after this stringy discharge occured. My rectum seems to be aggrivated too because I believe Ive been wiping hard also... I am so overwhelmed. Do you think this could be an STD or anything?

Your long, drawn out, detailed post was not necessary. Never the less, here is a reply to your questions

Could my Lymes be a false positive?
This is Med help’s HCV Forum. They have a Lyme Disease  Forum. That is where your question should be asked. You know the URL because you have already posted there.

I've been here all weekend trying to help you and answer your questions.  This is getting ridiculous.  It is against forum rules to continue to post the same question on multiple boards.  And to add, you are not being receptive nor patient.  There are people who really need and want to accept the advice given.  Please stop with the multiple posts and just wait for any additional advice that may or may not come to you.  No one  is going to tell you you may have something when you, yourself admit to having been tested and the results being negative.  Work it out.  Do you really want to have a sexually transmitted disease?  You are going to turn this into a psychological situation if you don't stop.

I understand I am sorry I just can't help but try and really find out what is the cause of all of this going on with me. I did not get tested for HEP C so I am wondering if it could be that. It is hard to come to anyone with these type of things so I was just looking for as much advice as I could get. I am sorry for all of the posts again and thank you so much for all of your help and patience with me. :( I just can't stop going crazy. My mind has taken over everything.
