I'm having symptoms of Gonorreha lower abdominal cramps and bleeding between periods yellowish discharge some times so I went and took a urine test and it came back negative after a month of possible exposure...but I did smoke weed and I made a mistake and touched the lid stem of the test cup before I put the lid on, would these cause a false negative?
never mind the herpes questions. I thought your nickname was familiar and I see we were already discussing your testing back in march on the herpes forum. continue to ask any further questions you have there in your original post on that forum and I'll gladlyhelp you with the herpes issues there where we've already discussed your inadequate testing you've had done.

I have a feeling when your husband was seen, they did testing on him and then threw a bunch of medications at him to cover all the bases. it's a common practice at some clinics unfortunately instead of waiting for test results to come back and treat then. Hard to tell if the person who supposedly looked at this discharge under the microscope correctly identified gonorrhea or not. perhaps what they thought was gonorrhea, was actually trich even - hard to tell at this point.
does your husband have hsv1 or hsv2 genitally? if the culture was only + for herpes, he needs additional testing to know what type he has. what testing did they do for you for herpes when you were tested?
Your husband will also need treated for trich too since you tested + for it. It"s hard to detect it in males so typically they just treat them if the female was tested + for it. Untreatd trich in males has been shown to have long term complications so this is fairly important that he follow up on it.
don't have sex again with your husband at this point until you've both been done with treatment for a week as well as all his herpes lesions have healed up.

My husband is reporting that the culture for gonorrhea is now negative. How can that be if testing was done via swab of discharge and looking at it under a microscope and he was told it was positive and given medication ? Is it possible he could have a false positive? He also tested negative for syphilis, chlaymdia and NGU via blood tests and urine culture. He did test positive for herpes via culture test of the genital sores.
I am waiting for 90 days to get the blood test done for herpes for myself. I tested negative for gonorrhea, chymdia, NGU and syphilis.
Thanks I will go to that forum
Shedding is a better question to be asked in the Herpes forum because it relates to herpes.
thanks I am very distraught but I am gonna take care of myself. I will get the testing done again...I wanted to ask what is shedding?
Yes taking those meds could def. skew your test results even in one day...
Second, we do recommend to wait at least 7 days after and exposure to be tested for gono, chlamydia, trich and NGU. BUT the experts on this forum who study STD's for a living do say that because they are bacterial infections you can test as soon as 3 days after an exposure and expect accurate results.
I would highly recommend retesting for HSV due to the time frame, your husband had an outbreak right after your encounter so most likely he was shedding during your intercourse. Testing for Herpes should be done 3 months post an exposure via blood, unless you have an open sore from an out break and can get a swab done.
Syphilis can be tested via swab only if there is a sore and if none present then you should get a blood test 6-8 weeks post the exposure.
I would also recommend HIV testing due to the number STDs your husband has. testing for HIV is 3 months post.
Again I'm really sorry ou have to go through this, if you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask
