Fear of Genital Herpes

Hi Doctor, This is embarassing for me. Last month I had a sexual encounter where my penis rubbed on a womans chest/breast and she gave me hand relief on my penis.Thats all that happened. She did also wet her finger with her mouth and touch my penis. I didnt think anything at first but it has built up inside me to the point where I couldnt take it anymore. I just got myself tested today. I think that I have worried soo much about it that my mind may have manifested symptoms of what i think is tingling and some itiching in my groin. Again I worry alot. I fear my mind may be causing it to a degree. Also what really got me upset about it was a very very tiny bump (just one) was on the shaft of my penis towards the top and when i touched it a tiny amount of what i think was puss popped out. It was not red and did not hurt. You would have to look really really close in order to see it. I realize that I worry way too much over what could be nothing but I cant help it. What do you make of this?
thank you for your time

Welcome to our Forum.  I cannot make a diagnosis over the internet - to do so would be inappropriate. I'll try to provide some perspective an advice.

What you describe does not sound like herpes and, more importantly, the exposure you describe is not an exposure which is at likely to lea to acquisition of herpes.  Herpes is transmitted by direct contact between an infected surface and another person's skin.  It is not transmitted in saliva or on one's hands, even when there are genital secretions on the person's hands.  Further initial herpes typically presents between 4 an 14 days after an exposure,,, not a month later.  Finally, HSV lesions tend to have clear fluid in them, not pus.  All of these things make HSV unlikely.  If you remain concerned I would suggest going to a local STD clinic where a culture or PCR test can be performed on a swab from a lesion.  I do not recommend a blood test in this setting.

I would also suggest that your concern over the possibility may be making your symptoms to be more apparent than they are.  Anxiety can do this

I hope this comment is helpful to you.  This is unlikely to be herpes.  EWH
