Follow up questions to my original post on Jan 28th, Feeling Guilty. Cunnilingus

Thanks for giving me the peace of mind with my situation with performing cunnilingus as my only unprotected sexual act.I have completely shut out my mind of getting HIV from my act, it was all guilt. You, my GP, STD Counselors who work at HIV clinics, planned parenthood medical assitants have given me the peace of mind.
I tested for Syphilis, Gonnarreah, Chlamydia, and All HEP A B C on Jan 26th. They pulled blood samples and Urine only. It all came back negative.Told my GP during testing,I had a small tiny white sore at the back rim of my throat, didnt hurt unless I gargled with warm water and salt he look at it and he said it was nothing, maybe a stress ulcer?I asked him if it could be herpes, and he said no and he would only test if I had a breakout of any sort which I didnt.  But my tonsil was inflamed on the side where the sore was, the other tonsil on the other side was fine.  I have had a runny nose since then.  Maybe a cold from my child who had her 5 shots the week before for Influenza, Hep, whatever it is for the 2nd shots they take on their 2nd month of life.

Read that there are tests for your throat if there are sores present.  Is it possible that I would have gotten throat Gonnarreah, throat, syphillis, and Chlamydia in the throat, and the tests that my GP took, by taking blood and urine, didnt pick it up?  Or are my test definitive? Do I need to retest in my mouth? Should I test for Herpes? What do you think Doc?  Do I need to worry about anything here?  Do I need to retest.  Just curious.  Making sure I cover all my bases.

Testing for STDs or HIV occurs rarely, if ever, as a condition of employment.  Permission is required.

Doesn't change my previous response.  You might now have a small scar in response to whatever caused the sore earlier; if your dentist wasn't concerned, you shouldn't be either.

One last thing, Thinking back, i only noticed 2 weeks after incident with the woman, I had on my inner cheek, a whitehead looking thing looking like it was growing out of my inner cheek.  I tried to pull it and squeez it several times but it was way under my skin in my mouth. It grew out but went away after 1 1/2 weeks.  Dont know what it was.  I did notice it after I ate crab cakes and when I at crab cakes I did notice that I chewed a shell or something. Maybe I am allergic to a degree to shellfish.  My brother is now after many years of him eating crab, shrimp, etc.. I just happened to look in my mouth after a couple days of eating.  The weird thing, is I went it and asked my dentist last week about the inner cheek thing and she looked at both inner cheeks and she said she had the same thing in her mouth. Not the white stuff which is gone now, but what I am describing now is just looks like small, small skin over hanging from the inner cheeks nothing irritating but just curious.

Thanks doc.

Dr. HHH,

thanks for the quick response.  Again I appreciate your truthful and non prejudical response.  Always a comfort when I talk with you and your post to others.  Thank you thank you very much.

Oh one last qustion.

When you get hired for any new job, Corporate, retail, commercial, etc...

When they send you in to take a drug test and you put urine in the cup, do they also test you for STDs or HIV?  Or do they have to get your permission for that?  Curios

Thanks again.

I can't say much more than I did 2 weeks ago.  You don't need any further STD testing.  As you suggest, sore throat, sores in the mouth, and other oral symptoms are far more commonly due to things other than STDs.  Herpes is only a theoretical risk, but even there I wouldn't test for it unless you start getting sores in or around the mouth that suggest recurrent outbreaks.

Best wishes--  HHH, MD
