Your worry about HSV1 is misplaced...
1. Most people contract it orally as children. 50%+ of Americans have it.
2. Can you imagine if we all washed our mouth out with soap, lemon juice, and Listerine every time that we kissed?
3. Are you sure that you don't have it already, most people do?
4. If you exhibit this kind of behavior after kissing, you should:
a. Learn more about how disease is transmitted. Hopefully, this will calm your concerns
b. If it does not calm your concerns you should consider altering your behavior and/or getting help dealing with this phobia.
If she didn't have a visible cold sore, then I'm sure you're fine. But even if you did get HSV-1, what's the big deal? About 50-60% of the US population has the infection (most acquired during childhood). There is no serious health risk associated with HSV-1 and oral herpes is not considered to be an STD in this context. The only thing to be aware of is that if your partner has a visible cold sore, oral sex should be avoided during the outbreak because it's possible to be passed genitally. Bottom line - nothing to worry about, move on.
Good luck,
Em
