Frightened it could be genital herpes

Im a male that  On Aug 2 at 1 am i received unprotected oral sex just one time from a female that I picked up at a bar. There was no kissing or sexual intercourse involved just sucking her **** and playing with her vagina. I ejaculated in her mouth and she swallowed. That same evening on Aug 2 I started to have itchiness around my pubic area.  Then i got tested for all the stds except for HPV NINE DAYS after that exposure and a physical check up to see if it looks like genital herpes and the doctor said theres no rash or bumps that look like herpes and said the itchiness is because of your ingrown hair. So  I got my results five days later and only tested positive for HSV 1 COLD SORES which was taken by a IGG blood test which was 0.14. Its 19 days and i still feel itchy on my pubic area, inner thighs and my anus too.  I just noticed some little bumps on my buttocks but they look like pimples cause there small and one has a white point like a pimple.

1. Were the IGG BLOOD test results to early to detect for stds? Could they be false negative results?
2. Why is my blood test for cold sores so low at 0.14? Could it get higher next time i test for it? Is it cause i contracted it from the exposure on aug 2? This is actually my first time getting tested for HSV.
3. Could cold sores occur in your mouth? How does shedding work?
4. If I caught the cold sores from that exposure  shouldnt i gotten genital herpes instead of cold sores?
5. Can I kiss or perform oral sex or give anyone the cold sores if theirs no cold sores present?
6. Could you have the cold sores and genital herpes at the same time?
7. Could you get herpes in your eye or any where else in your body from cold sores?
8. Is cold sores and std cause you could get in any type of way even children get it?
9. If i did catch the cold sores from this exposure shouldnt i been detected for genital herpes if i was infected with it cause cold sores detects it from antibodies?
10. How accurate is your info for this problem

This will be the last reply.

If your GF does not have HSV-1 herself (there is a 60% chance she does, whether she knows it or not), there is a chance of transmission, even in the absence of a cold sore because of asymptomatic shedding of the virus (see 3 above).

Most people acquire HSV-1 in childhood, typically through some sort of direct contact, including kissing.

As I also said again, it now time for you do seek more information through the ASHA web site mentioned above. This thread is over.  EWH

You are not paying attention to my earlier reply.  As I said,  "The magnitude of the number has no significance. "  So, obviously, person with low numbers or high can transmit infections to partners

Your itchiness may be a manifestion of yor unchecked anxiety.

Neither you, nor your GF need further testing, you need to put this behind you.

Thank you for your time doctor. Thats what the doctor told me in the ER that if i dont get any lesions within the two days of scratching that i dont have genital herpes. So she was right. Another question my test result is low for cold sores so does that mean i cant give it to someone cause its so low? Why do you think I have this itchiness or can it be just my mind controlling it cause of my anxiety and nerves and reading stuff online and getting scared? My girlfriend is going to go to the gyno and get tested which is exactly 6 weeks after that exposure i had  cause i told her about the problem cause we had unprotected sex the next day. With those test results if genital herpes comes out negative than i shouldnt get tested again?

Welcome to our Forum.  I will try to address your questions but having reviewed some of the other 22 posts you’ve made recently, it is clear that you are worried, and probably overly so about having acquired HSV from a single receipt of oral sex.  Thus, before I get into your specific questions let me endorse all that Grace has already today you and tell you emphatically that there is very, very little risk of getting HIV-2 from an episode of receptive oral sex.  Now, let’s work through your questions:

1.  Yes your blood testing was early. Studies show it take, on average at least 21 days for persons to develop antibodies to HSV.  In some people it may take longer, up to 6 months.  In general however, we do not recommend use of HSV blood testing for diagnostic testing in situations such as yours. Most people who acquire HSV develop lesions. If  you do/have not developed herpetic lesions within 14 days of exposure, the chances that you got herpes are essential zero and further blood testing is not needed.
2.  This may represent an infection that has been present for some time.  it is a bit on the low side but we see plenty in this range.  The magnitude of the number has no significance.  You could get repeat testing to see if you were developing antibodies but unless your level rose to over 3 since then you can be confident that this is not something that is likely to change.
3.  Shedding means that the virus is present. the virus can be shed from lesions or asymptomatically in people who have established infection.  cold sores typically occur outside the mouth- sometimes they also occur in the mouth but they do not occur just on the outside of the mouth.
4.  No, following an exposure you can get infected at any site of contact.
5.  Yes, if you have HSV-1 on your mouth you can transmit to others through asymptomatic shedding. it is not common but it certainly happens.
6.  When people get infected with HSV they get infected at one site or another but to become infected at more than one site would be most unusual.
7.  Unlikely.
8.  Colds sores, like other SHV infections are transmitted through direct contact.
9.  This question is hard to follow
10.  You can decide.  I have no reason to justify myself to you.

You have many questions which suggest that your anxiety is out of proportion to your risk.  My advice is to learn more than I can provide in the limited space available here.  There is excellent, highly informative information available at the web site run by the American Social Health Association.  (Disclosure. Dr. Handsfield and I are both members of the American Social Health Association Board of Directors.)  I will entertain a limited number of follow-up questions but am not going to address :what if" and " have you ever...." questions. They are a waste of time.  I hope my comments help. EWH

Also i went to the ER five days after the exposure and the doctor said that it doesnt look like genital herpes cause if i had the itchiness for more then two days that i should of seen lessions, blisters' or bumps on my pubic area. She also said that if you do get infected with genital herpes you would see symptoms and that the commercials and information are just lying to you that no symptoms will show up if you infected with genital herpes. Is that true doctor? For question 8. I meant to say is cold sores a std cause you could get it in any type of way even as a children.

Thank you DOCTOR. Hope your respond calms my stress and nerves down. Hope to hear from you as soon as possible. Thank you!
