Gardnerella

by arcanonporos, May 22, 2009 04:13AM
i am a 26 year old male, i had unprotected sex about 6 months ago with a girl i dont see anymore. over the next weeks i noticed that there were little red spots on my glans, and as it got worse i went to see my doctor. i got tested for STDs and everything came out negative.he diagnosed candidiasis he prescribed clyndamicine which made the infection go away but i kept having a burning and stinging sensation in my testicles, perine, and glans, i went to see my doctor again he prescribed me metronidazole thinking that it might be trichomoniasis, i took the meds for over 20 days with no result, after that i got tested again but this time he did cultures for both urine and urethral fluids, the result showed a bacteria, Enterobacter sp, he prescribed me ciprofloxacyn, which i took for 15 days, and sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim which i also took for another 15 days, and still i didnt get better. i went to see another doctor for a second opinion and he told me it was gardnerella because there was an odor like athletes feet on my penis. i am currently taking secnidazole 2 g per day, and will be taking ketorolac 1 g per day,

as i was reading the forums, some of the doctors say that gardnerella is not responsible for this condition, i am really desperate because everything i to try seems futile. could anyone tell me if im in the right path?

thanks

I think you are on the right path. I know it can be frustrating, but right now your Dr(s) are the best people for you since they have tested you and examined you.
