Genital Warts?

So I was fooling around with this guy in the dark...I was playing with his penis, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. However, when I pressed down a bit, I felt a firm mass, feeling like it was under the skin. It was kind of aspirin-sized and not really hard, but firm. Could this be a wart? I didn't think so, because it felt as though it wasn't on the top of the skin, but I figured I'd ask anyway.

I'm not a doctor, but I had warts and a firm mass under the skin sounds nothing like them.
