Genital cleanliness after sex, plus some other STD issues.

I had unprotected sex with a girl about a week ago and I have just noticed a bunch of small red dots on the bottom side of my shaft (about 8 dots). They are all scattered around the same underside area of the shaft but not like so close that their touching each other. They are very small but when I look closely they look like they could have a blistery appearance (as in shiny-ish under the light under close inspection). They don't itch or hurt (yet).

After reading up on the information, it seems almost guaranteed I got herpes, because:

1) They look like how all the websites have described it.

2) I just noticed it today which is about a week after I had sex, which is between the expected 2-20 days.

3) Sex was unprotected.

4) She told me she gets coldsores from time to time but she has never noticed anything in or around her genital region (so she assumed she was clear down there). The only mouth-to-penis contact was for a brief one second (a peck/kiss). I guess that's good enough to contract something, even thought she hadn't had a coldsore for a while.

5) When I mentioned to the girl my possible herpes situation, she didn't seem surprised. But not in a 'she knew she had it all along' kinda way, but more like 'I guess that is possible even though I didn't think I had it' kinda way. Basically my point here is that she didn't have the 'no way it wasn't from me' reaction.

6) The last time I had sex before last week was about 2 months ago, also with the same girl but I never noticed anything after sex that time. And the last time before that was with someone else a week before that (but I think it's probably nothing to do with that second girl?) My point being I hadn't had sex other times or with different people the 2 months before last week's sex. So the likelihood that it has something to do with the sex I had last week seems very high.

7) I guess it could be something other than herpes that I still contracted off her, but what else could it be? Best bet seems to be herpes.

I know I'm overanalysing but it's part of my freaking out process. I'm already at the point of acceptence that I just got herpes and I'm going to the doctor tomorow about it.

I have a few questions though:

1) From what I have described, I'd like to hear people's educated guess on whether they think it's probably herpes or something else.

2) After I had sex that time, I hadn't washed/cleaned/showered for 20 hours after that, so my genital region would have had her 'coating' on it for a while before I finally showered. Did that increase the likelihood of me getting herpes? Or that wouldn't have made any difference?

Also I had partly shaved down there earlier in the day and I think I might have had bit of a razor nip (so I guess that constitutes as a possible open wound?) The nip (if there was one) would have been at the base of my penis. What kind of affect would/could that have had?

3) Assuming I didn't get it off the 1 second oral peck, how is it that I caught this off a girl who never had genital symptoms? What's the likelihood of that happening?

Reply would be greatly appreciated.

i think pretty much everything you said & guessed sounds right, but to answer your last question, it is very possible that she had HSV-2 (genital herpes as opposed to HSV-1 which is oral herpes) but never had an outbreak, that does happen.  i don't know how common, but i don't think it's that rare.  i don't think the non-showering made a difference, i'm pretty sure once it dries it's dead.  it does sound like herpes (sorry i wasn't planning on responding to every answer so i started from the bottom and went up) to me, but i'm not a herpes expert, i've just spent a lot of time on this forum.  oh and i overanalyze everything too i have warts and i'm always asking the most detailed questions.  best of luck to you!!

I think you have convinced yourself this must be herpes. Going to see your doctor is the best course of action.

herpes isn't transmitted by laying on the skin and being absorbed - you can't wash it off after sex and be infection free. It's transmitted during sex thru the heat and friction of the sex act forcing the virus into openings in the skin - even microscopic ones resulting just from the sex act itself.
