Genital wart duration

I had quite the nervous moment the other day, I saw what looked somewhat like a wart on my penis (though i'm not too sure due to the fact that I've never seen one in person before). My provblem is that 1) i can't tell if it was a wart or not or 2) if it was just a sore from the zipper on my pants.  I noticed it one night but by the morning it looked like it was clearing up. does sound like the sign of warts or just a sore?

a wart won't go away that quickly.  They linger for months.
