Genitle Herpes

by Nat_34, Sep 12, 2007 03:25AM
Ok,

I was in a relationship 1 1/2 years ago, it would also be the last time I had intercourse.  Recently I am noticing blisters that when broken start to bleed, could I have been some way, some how infected.. My ex-girlfriend was nurse and tested regularly so I don't know how I would have found myself in contact.

genital herpes - spelling does count sometimes ;)

If you are having blisters on your genital area then you need to go be seen by a medical practioner. It's not normal.

Most folks have never, ever, ever gotten tested for herpes in their lifetime. Chances are good that your ex gf never did either. Go be seen and tested for all std's and find out what is going on.

It's not really on my genital area but more around my pelvic area..
below my abs..
I will go get tested but genital herpes is on the genital area right..

It really doesn't matter where in the general vicinity it is down yonder - blisters there are abnormal and need checked out by a medical practioner.

how soon after being infected with herpes or gental warts do you start to show symtoms? by syptoms (symptoms) I mean sores or ulcers. are there usually many sores or can 2 or 3 be signs of this disease? if there is no pain or itching is there still a good chance that that is what it is? I will get checked out asap but right now i am trying to get some piece of mind.

Herpes causes blisters, and typically you would have blisters within 2-20 days.  However, not everyone gets blisters - it could be sores, paper cut lesions, etc.  Most people experience some pain or irritation, but not everyone does.

Genital warts is an entirely different virus, and those would appear within a month to years later.

The best thing you can do is see your doctor, and not try and diagnose yourself.

Sure, it could be a fungal infection, an allergic reaction, etc.

Did the doctor give you any medication to take?
