Girlfriends swollen Vagina

So, last week my girlfriend started complaining about her vagina being sore.

She was worried she may of caught an STD from myself, as I've a sexual relationships in the past.

Now although we haven't had unprotected intercourse (She's still a virgin), we've had oral sex.

She went to our local walk-in centre after her vagina lips become swollen. The doctor who had a look, said they thought it may be an ingrowing hair that's become infected or something like that, and put her on antibiotics.

It's now been four or five days, and the antibiotics don't seem to be working. She is still very sore and swollen down there.

Any advice?

P.S. I personally don't think she has an STD, as I'm not suffering from any symptoms (Although I know this can sometimes happen).

I'm not sure what they tested her for, all I know is that they think it is an ingrowing hair that's become infected or something.

They didn't even ask her anything regarding her sex life.

did they test her for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally?

also hsv1 can be transmitted from the oral area to the genital area through oral sex.  you don't have to have an active cold sore present for this to be an issue.  she really should've been tested with a lesion culture of the "ingrown hair" too.
