Gonorrhea from hand/oil massage

by nightflight, Nov 17, 2005 12:00AM
Hello Doctor

I have scanned the forum for my worries and I have read that normally hand-to-genital contact doesn't cause STD.

A prostitute massaged my penis with oil a few days ago without condom.
Later, I have checked her fingers/hands for cuts or blood - there was nothing visible.

So, a day later, just at the beginning of urination I expereinced now several times a certain burning which, however disappears during urination.

I cannot see yet any red skin (i.e inflammation) or special signs a STD on my penis and there is also no discharge visible.

There is just this burning at the beginning of urination. Could it be an injury "inside" the penis from the massage or a sign of STD (HIV, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, etc).

Thank you for your help.

There is no risk of gonorrhea or any other STD from getting a hand job.  Whatever is causing your symptoms, it's not an STD.  Anyway, STD symptoms can't start that fast.  The only possible physical cause of your symptoms in any way related to the exposure you describe is chemical irritation due to massage oil, soap, etc getting massaged into the urethra.  But even that is unlikely; that would have caused pain the very next time you urinated.  A non-physical (emotional) origin sounds possible.

Good luck--  HHH, MD

No one ever gets a STD from a handjob. Maybe it's irritation from the oil, or too vigorous stimulation, or maybe it's just your anxiety heightening what would be a normal body sensation. But it's not a STD, or at least not from this encounter.

The doctor will tell you that you're 100% in the clear. No need to stress about your health sexually of your wife's. And doc I had one more quick question...am I in the clear for HSV-2 if i got tested while i was feeling "symptoms" and while i had inflamation (inflammation)/lesion in front of meatus, also it burns while i pee but my 12 week test was negative after all of this? I tested negative for everything else 7 weeks after exposure. Do you think I should get retested for gonnrrhe, syphillis or chlamydia since the burning and penile and groin discomfort are still present?
