Gonorrhea questions

I tested positive earlier this year feb i believe for Gonorrhea (I have never had an std in my life). I felt very dirty and sleezy. I was treated and re-tested for piece of mind May of this year it came back negative for any std. I am wondering cause I have been hearing a lot of talk about std hpv and hiv. What are my chances of having contracted any of these other std or diseases. Will paps and blood work dectect any of these items. I am a single mom and it scares me to death because I dont want to be sick and leave my child without a mom. Please can anyone help shed some light and help clear up any confusion. Thanks

HIV has to be tested by blood work 3 weeks - 6 months after exposure (for accuracy) so if you were tested for HIV and it came back negative after the window period then u do not have HIV. blood work is 99% effective. If you were not tested for STI then you cannot get the results for that.  If your pap smear test came back negative then you do not have HPV.  hope that makes sense ^_^

I had blood work done and they said everything was normal and was retested with another pap smear swob in May and it came back negative. I am just paranoid about HIV. My doctor never said anything about STI

If what you mean is when you've contracted gonorrhea in Feb that my have have caught something else, then yes it's possible that one STI can co-exist with another infection. If you were tested for STI then your doc wouldve treated you for any other existing conditions that are suspicious.  But an HIV test is diff of course, it's not through a pelvic exam.  A pap smear also does not test for the usual STIs either or HIV but it does test for HPV, HIV/STI tests are diff and people usually get STI testing added to their pap smears check.  Blood work can test for HIV, herpes.  but nowadays they have an oral swab for HIV testing which is more convienient.  If ur tests came back neg, did the dr say it was clear of other STIs also?

I think my post was a little confussing. I did in fact test positive for Gonorrhea and was treated. then I retested a few months later and was negative. I am concerned about the chances of me getting or having hiv or any other serious disease.
