Gonorrhea

My girlfriend was diagnosed with gonorrhea so we both got the shot and I was also tested.  My test came back negative the week after and me and my girlfriend have unprotected sex at least once a day prior to her being diagnosed.

Is it possible that they messed up and she had never had it in the first place?

If she did have it how long after the shot should we wait before we start having oral and unprotected sex again?

It has now been 15 days since we received the shot and we have had protected sex but not until 8 days after the shot.

False positive is possible but rare.
7 days after medication to have sex again

What else could have happened?  The odds of me not having it are literally 1:1,000,000 because we have had unprotected sex every day, most days more than once for the past year and a half.  Also, even after she was diagnosed with what I personally think was a false positive or a falsely triggered positive result it was a week before we were able to get an appointment for the shot and by that point I had guaranteed myself that I had it so we still continued the unprotected sex at its usual pace until, not kidding, 10 hours prior to going in for the shot i.e. the night before.  Other than cheating how else could this be?

What else could it be other than gonorrhea? Could a UTI or yeast infection produce a positive test?

If this is truly gonorrhea then most likely situation is she stepped outside of your relationship in recent times. To have had it for over 1.5 yrs and if you were having sex for say 9 months unprotected the chance of you not getting it is slim to none.

Please give multiple answers in order order of most likely to least.  I would also like to know your ideas on how she got it, if she really doesn't have it and why I don't have it after all this time.

We have been together for a year and a half and I know I haven't cheated and she swears she hasn't either. At last years annual visit she was tested and clean, this year she was tested and positive for gonorrhea.  Ever since I have known her she has been prone to UTI's and has always had a creamy discharge which she claims she has had since she was young. For the entire time we have been together, we have been having unprotected sex multiple times a day, I just don't see the possibility of her having it and me not having it.

Knowing all the information, I ask for your best guess on what the cause of this discrepancy is.

Thank you!

just because your gf had gonorrhea, didn't mean you were going to get it immediately. Treating you both was the best way to deal with this. wait a week before resuming sex.

did you also both cover your other std testing bases, including herpes testing?

What is more likely to have happened then if it wasn't a false positive?
