HIV risk from topping without protection

Hello all,
I would like some advice on what I should do about an encounter I had 2 days ago. I had another encounter with another guy 3 days ago and I pushed my limit when I tried topping without using a condom. I am HIV negative, tested around 8 months ago, and my friend is also tested 3 weeks ago with a negative result.

However, I am concerned about the window period and the validity of these tests. I am not a sexually active person and I had only two encounters in almost a year (the last encounter was also with the same friend, but I only received oral for that encounter). On the other hand, I have a feeling he is more active than I am.

Today, I have been feeling fatigued and had a light case of diarrhea, but I have a feeling this is from the stress and anxiety over the situation. I feel guilty and a bit angry with myself over the situation, and I hope I can get a few answers:

1) What are my risks of contracting HIV or other STDs from this encounter?
2) Is a 3 month post exposure test sufficient to have a solid conclusion of my status?
3) What should I watch for in the coming weeks to tell if I might have caught anything?
4) I had always experienced a certain sense of guilt after these "caught in the moment" incidents, am I a sexual addict or should I consult someone about these feelings?

Many thanks for the advice,
Dave

Hello Dave,

If by "topping without using a condom" you mean insertive anal sex (and you know you did have insertive anal sex), then

1) You DID put yourself at risk for HIV and all other STDs.

2) It is for all STDs
3) STD symptoms: penile discharge, either green or yellow.   Any discomfort or pain in penis.
4) Consult someone (preferably a health care professional/therapist) about these feelings.
