HPV exposure by touching question

4 days ago, I touched a girl's private who later that night told me she had HPV. The touching was done with my fingers and there was penetration by the fingers, but not by my private, as i had my boxers on. What is going to happen now? I washed my hands that night and took a shower in the morning. I'm worried that i might have contracted the virus that way. Is it possible? Is there a way to know? Is there anything i can do at this point? I am taking vitamins c to help boost my immune system is there anything lese i can do?

no, dont' use over the counter wart treatments.  they are not effective on genital warts and will irritate the skin.  freezing is a method they use usually only if creams & stuff don't work, but i suggest eating lots of immune-boosting foods- it's a lot cheaper and it was pretty effective for me.  if the warts are gone, it doesn't necessarily mean the HPV is.  a lot of people carry the virus without having symptoms.

Thanks a lot, that helps a little bit. I really appreciate your relpy. I'll wait and see if anthing physical pops up. Is there any over-the-counter drugs to help with the warts? What about the freeze thing? And after the warts diappear, doesthat mean the hpv is gone? Thanks

there are over 100 strains, 30 of which cause warts according to the CDC (roughly).

My girlfriend has HPV, Men don't really have to worry.  If we get a wart, we just get it frozen and removed.  The only thing we need to worry about is passing it on if its the type that could highten the risk of cervical cancer.  My Doctors take on it is "Who doesnt have it these days"!  So while it seems such a scary thing its getting to be the norm in this society.

oh and no, for men there's no way to know unless you ever see visible warts (which usually show up a few weeks to a few months after exposure).

there are so many different kinds of hpv, even the warts on your hands & feet are caused by it.  but it all depends on what strain it is.  genital HPV cannot be spread to other areas of the body, and non-genital HPV cannot be spread to the genitals.  so if you didn't touch your genitals immediately after, you're good.  i believe the virus dies after either 1-2 minutes or 1-2 seconds.  can't remember but either way it doesn't have long.  taking immune-boosting supplements is your safest bet, but i doubt you have anything to worry about anyway.

oh and other than the chance of spreading HPV to other women (which is still a valid concern!!), unless her strain of HPV is warts, being male you don't have to worry about it anyway! (like if she knows she has HPV because she had an abnormal pap or something)
