HSV-1 & Kiss on Cheek?

If I have HSV-1 (Herpes of the mouth) can I kiss my children on the cheek without passing it on to them? It would make me really sad if i could not.

That's if I'm not taking medication for it yet.

If you have an active cold sore  - avoid kissing and sharing food/drinks with your kids until it's completely healed and the skin is normal again. Otherwise kissing your kids on the cheek is pretty low risk.
