HSV-1

Hello again everyone. I just had a quick question pertaining to HSV-1 (cold sores, ectera). In the shower, I noticed a tiny, red area right on the border of my lip/slightly above it. From what I can see, it appears to be elevated, so for the time being, I'm assuming it's a cold sore (I've never had one in my life). Just looking for thoughts on it...

My girlfriend and I were heavily making out saturday night (on the 7th), and I just noticed it today. Neither her nor I, like I said, have had a cold sore before. At first I thought it was just irritation (due to the fact that we were going as far as biting each other's lips... hah..), but now, like I said, it looks a bit more raised. My only problem is, is the fact that they say cold sores are suppose to be very painful, but this isn't painful at all. Given it's only been 3 days, but still... Everything I've read has said they hurt.

Also, I believe it's HSV-1 because a few times I've had a cluster of small white bumps form around my mouth. They were very tiny, didn't hurt at all, and when I popped them, they would leak out very small amounts of a clear liquid (they look exactly like pimples, except I've NEVER had that many pimples form in a single setting).

Anyways, like I said, just really looking to see what you all thought. I just looked at it in the mirror again, and now I can't even tell if it's raised or not, lol. Just looks irritated. I don't know.
