This is probably going to sound really stupid, but...
Months ago I had HSV tests for both type I and II. Both negative (and both reliable tests according to your criteria on Medhelp, Dr.).
During the past week I have developed an irritation on my nostrils. It started on my right nostril--kind of red and sore, and then flaky and almost scabby. Then it started on my left nostril just the other day, same thing..
I know you can't make judgement online, but I guess the question is--how common would it be to experience HSV on the nostrils without ANY corrollary sore on the lips whatsoever? Would HSV generally attack BOTH nostrils at once? I also have an ongoing skin irritation on my face (cheeks) that becomes irritated and infected...and I tend to scratch/touch that area rather often...so I'm thinking I might have spread it to my nostrils that way...
In any case, any info would be appreciated before I make specialist dermatology appointments and the like. THe nostrils are a bit irritated, but no more so then if it was chafed skin...which is kind of what it looks like.
