Hi AJ,
Thanks for that. I would retest and take it from there.
Thanks once again.
It might.
Speculation is going to make you crazy. Right now, you have as good of a chance of it being a false positive as you do a true positive.
Just retest and go from there.
AJ
Thanks AJ,
I had once protected sex encounter before 5 months.
Does it take 5 months to show the symptoms. If I consider Shingles where not shingles in that case.
Thanks.
I don't know the chances. It really could be either.
I can tell you that the chances of you getting hsv2 from a body slide are next to nothing. If it is positive, its not from that encounter.
Good luck.
AJ
Hi,
Thanks AJ,
Well will not do that. But as Emma suggest..should I go ahead and get retest..What do u think is the possiblity of false positive with the type of exposure I mentioned.
I am planning to get retested. But your opinion will truly help me.
Thanks in advance.
Hi there -
You can post to the doctors by clicking on the Related Expert Forums - STDs link to the right of this.
I can tell you that you don't need to, as they will likely tell you the exact same thing Emma has. If you want, just read through the posts there and you will probably get your answer that way, and save yourself some money.
Aj
Thanks Emma,
I dont have any visible symptoms on my genitals.
Also for HSV1 I dont see any cold sore on my lips/oral area.
I got tested because , I had visited once in a erotic massage parlour, the lady gave me a body slide. Nothing else happen apart this.
I am also confused by the results. Also I have read that High HSV1 will probably show you up with + HSV2.
I am totally freaked up now and want to carry on with my life. I had Shingles few days back and that made be doubtful about the HSV2. Those were on my Buttocks..near the upper part of thighs..I Know from one of posts from Dr.HHH that initlal Genital herpes outbreak never happen on buttock. Most probably the recurrent one happens there. I have never seen anything on my genital area as of now.
Dont know what to do..I think I will go ahead and do a test with Biokit. that will be a tie-breaker.
What are you opnions on the same.
Also how can I post question to Doctors?
thanks.
This isn't the doctor's forum - I'm not sure if you posted there. You definitely have HSV-1 and you might have HSV-2. Have you had symptoms? Experts have been debating what the cutoff for "positive" should be, some feel the .9 is too low. However, since you are almost at 3, I would retest. You could always retest with another test such as Biokit or Western Blot which is the 'gold standard' of herpes testing, but more expensive. However, I'm not a professional and maybe somebody with more experience could help you interpret your results.
Good luck,
Em
