Help!

Doctor,
So about 2 years ago, I got a pimple-like bump on my vaginal area. For about the next 5 or 6 months, I would get them off and on. They were never in the same spot (one near vaginal opening, two in pubic area, one on the outer lip of vagina, and one on the crease between my thigh and pubic area). Each time there was only one, they last approx. 2 weeks (one lasted about 3 months) and they do not change they just go away. They are painful to the touch, but do not itch, they also do not become open sores or scab over. Some are like boils and have a hard middle, but some looked just like pimples. I stuck one with a needle(stupid, I know) and a little blood came out. I’ve never had any other of the symptoms that generally go along with a herpes outbreak. I actually just got another bump today, in another different spot.  It is red and has a white top(no bigger than a pin-head), and only hurts sightly when touched.  I also did not have any signs or symptoms before this "pimple" came.
My question is should I be concerned about them and does it sounds like herpes? HELP!

This doesn't sound like herpes, which typically would occur as a cluster of more than one lesion, and would recur in more or less the same spot every time.  Your description sounds more like pimples or infected sebaceous cysts.  But the way to know for sure is be be examined and tested.  Arrange ahead of time with your health care provider to be seen immediately (within a day or two) the next time a bump appears.  Or just have a blood test for HSV-2.  But in the meantime, I don't think you have any worries about herpes.

Good luck--  HHH, MD

Doctor,
After further examination, I noticed there is another smaller-tiny pimple about an inch away from the other one I described above, it is tinier and barely even noticeable.  Does this increase my chances of it being herpes?
Thank you
