I may have been exposed to a Herpes positive person, but couldn't be certain. As a precaution, I went to a Doctor who said that there was no use in testing for it because 85% of people end up being positive anyway. He decided to treat me as if I had it, but since I have not developed any symptoms, I want to know if there is any way to know for certain if I contracted Herpes without having an obvious outbreak? I assume the treatment would have prevented an outbreak or other symptoms, so is there any way to know for sure if I have Herpes?
