Other than the rash that I got once from the severe yeast infection, I never noticed any visible "leisons". I get regular pap smears, and have been tested for all STD except herpes.
I don't think it is herpes, I just want some thought on this. My doctor and dermatologist say that I just have sensitive skin, and sensitive nerve endings in my vaginal area.
I should also say that other than my boyfriends oral sex encounter, we've both only been with each other.
Could his oral sex episode be causing any of this? Or is it just a coincidence?
So your boyfriend received oral sex 3 1/2 YEARS ago, and you are worried you contracted something? And you've had negative STD testing. I'd venture a guess that anxiety is playing a huge role here. Although you might want to go ahead and get tested for herpes, but your ongoing symptoms don't sound like they are related to herpes, even if you came up positive.
You should also know that "vulvodynia" is believed by many practitioners and health care providers to be a variant of depression. In other words, due to psychological factors.
If neither of you have ever been tested for herpes before - why not both of you get a type specific herpes igg blood test so that you both know your status and know if it's even anything you need to be worried about? Chances are good that with symptoms as frequently and as long as you've described that it has nothing to do with herpes - especially not hsv1 genitally which in the vast majority of folks who have it doesn't reoccur very often and isn't much of an issue but it really sounds like you need the peace of mind.
It's very annoying having a cranky crotch - got one myself and honestly I"d rather have my herpes over my sensitive genital area. I can control my herpes much better than I can my easily irritated skin and such.
