Herpes?

I'm sure you guys deal with 50 of these a day, but I'm pretty scared and I don't know where else to ask...

I had unprotected sex with a girl who assured me that she was clean 5 nights ago.  It was a stupid mistake, but besides that, I have just a few hours ago noticed a small reddish/pink bump on the underside of the head of my penis.  It is about the size of a fairly small face pimple and it is not painful, and I may not have even noticed it had I not been checking.  I'm worried about herpes.  Does herpes show up in just one small red/pink bump at first?

Also, I had given and received oral sex to this same girl about a month ago and had no symptoms of anything.  Thanks in advance.

I have contracted herpes myself, and when it first happened, I got a high fever that lasted a week. Then I got a small red bump that had no pain to the touch. During the next few months, I would get more solitary bumps that would sting when I peed. I found out that I had herpes according to an expensive blood test I had done.
My advice, you may have the disease, but don't become depressed about it. Be careful and mindful with future people you want to have sex with, or they could sue you for not telling them. Get a blood test done as well. If it comes back as positive, get prescribed Valacyclovir, and take it when ever a genital area starts to tingle. It is not the end of the world to have herpes. I cope well now and my boyfriend is okay with it. Do not have sex during an outbreak or the warts will thrive. Put rubbing alcohol on the area as well. Herpes grow where it is moist, and alcohol sterilizes the area so it can't spread.

I usually shower daily so I consider myself clean too. Heck most of the time I even smell purdy ;)  If you want to know if someone has a std or not - the best way is for both of you to get tested for the whole shebang before being intimate.  The vast majority of folks who have any std at all have no idea they are infected.  You can not rely on someone's self reporting as meaning that they are std free.

The best thing to do is to see your doctor about this bump. It could be many, many things.
