Hiv testing time/ home accesss/first generation

Im trying to post this to the new hiv prevention fourm. I posted a thread in the std fourm a bit over a month ago. I had unprotected vag sex over 9 weeks ago. Started feeling wierd around  week 2 so went to the Doc at 18 days , they did all the tests hiv, syph etc.But she gave me a shot(of what I think was pennicillin and a weeks worth of Doxycillin to be on the safe side) All tests came back neg. But the symptoms presisted,ie sore lymph nodes, sore muscles, head ache,I also had a rash around my waist that I thought was exzema (eczema). I tested at a clinic at 30 days , neg. At sixty days I tested w/ a home instant result test(not fda approved) it was neg. At 8.5 weeks I tested w/ home access , it was also neg. The same night that I tested w/home access I developed a fever of 103+ that lasted 3 days and really made the joint, muscle and head ache pains go through the roof.the fever is gone, but the joint, muscle ,headache are still here and now Im having night sweats. My questions are could the regimine if Doxycillin and penicycillin delayed semiconversion to hiv? Could this be syph that didnt get taken care of w/ the doxy ? Or not an std at all ? Thanks for all the help.

Not HIV or syphilis.  No medicine and no illness delays HIV seroconversion or changes the test result--except perhaps for high-powered chemotherapy or maybe very advanced immune suppression, e.g. terminal cancer, and maybe antiretroviral therapy when given for HIV post-exposure prophylaxis.  Doxy is highly reliable against syphilis.  Your symptoms don't suggest any STD.  Follow up with your health care provider if they continue.

Good luck-- HHH, MD

yes i recently had a scare.  i had sex for my first time and i had done it a total of under ten times with this girl.  I went in her unprotected for a short time but may have been long enough to prejaculate.  Well about a month after the time with no condom i got the flu and i was like what if its aids so i look up facts on hiv and aids on the inet.  It said a month to two months after wards you can get flu like symptoms.  This was about a month ago.  With the flu i lost about 10 lbs.  It also said loss of weight was a sign.  I then saw other symptoms and began having them but that may have been in my head.  Ive been very stressed since theis time and had diarrhea off and on since this time.  I also have a tight dry throat which i hope is also just stress and anxiety.  She was tested and it came back negative. This was about 35 weeks after her last sexual encounter before me.  Also the guy she had been with was tested too.  came back negative as well.  I didnt know if their tests were too early to tell.  Can you please help me and how accurate are aids tests? thanks
