Thanks for taking the time to read this. I have been in a relationship for about 3 years now....about two years ago I strayed from said relationship like an idiot. Anyway, about a week or so after the encounter I got a sore on the shaft of my penisCancer - penis Curvature of the penis Penis care (uncircumcised) Penis pain, didn't hurt at all, no pus and not the regularRegular insulin signs of herpes and/or syphillis.
I'd love it if someone might lead me in the right direction as ALL of my symptoms are nothing characterized on this site or any other for that matter. Thank you in advance.
This is a difficult one...but this is what "I" think.
You say you tested the first time (how soon afer?).
And all the tests were indeed negative.....right?
Then in 2007 of this year you got retested again......and agian all negative.
So, it may very well just be irritation.
But your statement of "flaking" away is an indicative sign for HSV 1/2. So if the herpes test you took (Which one I am not aware of) may not always be accurate. Could it be that you have HSV 1/2 in the genital area? possibly....but also maybe not. It is very hard to say,...since many herpes tests are not always reliable at indicating recent infection. It would be best suited that if you have another penile lesion in the future, to have a dermatologist review the area before the pain/irriation/sore goes away. If puss, abcess (abscess) , or blisters are not present, it most likely is not HSV. But to be brutallyhonest, HSV is not my area of focus. perhaps gracefrom HHP is or can be more insightful in helping you.
Hi Brian, thanks for the input. The H test that was done on me was the HerpesSelect, which is apparently one of the golden standards for this type of test.
From what I've read on numerous boards and discussions with my doc is that HSV2 (genital) and the outbreaks occur "every now and then". Me, on the other hand, have had this dull pain ever since that time. Feels like a nerve is being pricked with a needle, but very dull. It persists.
My concern is that I have done two separate tests, both conclusive for being negative on all the tests and yet I still have this issue. I haven't had another lesion since about a week after that encounter well over two years ago. I'm at a loss here dude and it sucks. Even my gf is bugging thinking I've been unfaithful during that time! lol
Any more input would be appreciated and thanks for your time.
Yes. I am familiar with the herpes select.
Then, that being said, it is not herpes.
If the pain persists and is not intermittant (thus being painful ALL the time), maybe you should see a urologist.
As far as a STI, that symptom is not indicative of anything I know of relating to a STI.
Could just be a spasm,....but beyond that, beyond the scope of this forum.
She may be, but seeing what advice and insight you offer to folks like myself and King(whatever his handle is), you should sleep well knowing you have done good work for the day. I personally appreciate your efforts.
And when you speak to your MD about this issue, bring that test up as a possible measure for testing.
I am sure he/she is quite clear about this testing method.

She is quite valuable to this forum
All I ask is a prayer to be said..
And thanks for the thanks!
2 questions if you would
1- Why are you on this board? Are you a victim of one of these diseases/virii/etc?
2- What does the VDRL/Serum test actually test for?
Thanks
Just became quite curious about STI's after quite a promiscous youth.
2. The VDRL/Serum test looks for the test is looking for evidence of Treponema pallidum, the bacterium that causes syphilis.
I am sure he/she is quite clear about this testing method.
Have a great night and thanks again!
