How long can an STD go untreated?

Hello Doctors,

I am 32 yrs old

In the past 10 yrs I have had 5 sexual partners. I am female all 5 were male. I have not been tested for any STD's  Now I am married and worried I have brought an STD into my marriage. Neither my husband or I have symptoms, but I have been reading how most STD's are asymtomatic. My question is what are the chances I have had an STD for a decade and not known it?

Thank you this helps ease my mind a little. I am a bit of a cybercondriac. One more question how true is it that Most STD's are asymtomatic? I always thought my body would show signs of any infection.

Most STD's will show something within 3 years. Something like syphilis would show something sooner but in 10 years you would have some serious issues.

I would say test if it helps ease your mind, but I would not worry about it.
