How to tell if it's precum or discharge?

Hi, I would like to confirm what I currently know, and also provide info for someone else who is looking an answer to that question.

Many times I wake up with an erection, which decreases as soon as I get off the bed. A while later, if I hadn't urinated, I notice a tiny, single crystal clear drop of fluid coming out of the urethra. It is sticky (if I touch the drop with the tip of my finger, it stretches when taking away the finger).

Since I have no pain in my penis ever, no pain when urinating ever and the fluid is colorless, I assume this drop of fluid is precum, produced because of my morning erection. Am I right?

What are the differences between a malign (disease-infection-related) discharge and precum fluid?
