I don't know what to believe

This question is for auntiejessie, with all due respect, I really need a straight answer as my best friend's boyfriend has anal warts yet is not admitting any anal exposure though we have reason to believe different..  in several posts you say that many people get anal warts without necessarily having had any kind of rectal exposure, yet I read this post by dr. hook on the STD forum:

the first is in reply to "How likely is it that I now have HPV, either genital, anal or oral?" and dr. hook replied,
"HPV is spread by direct contact; places that did not touch are not infected."

and on the same post Dr. Hook also said, "You can find anything you want to on the net and you have to decide whether or not you wish to believe our information.  Between the 2 of us we have over 50 years of STD experience and that is how we make our living."

yet auntiejessie you say several times on several posts that many people get anal warts without any anal sex/exposure... so, on what grounds do you say it's possible for men (or women/people in general) to get anal warts without rectal exposure?  can we still believe this guy and refute dr. hook's statement?

AJ is not here today, but I can try to help you for the time being.

Well after reading your post I can not help because I don't know much about HPV and I don't want to spak for AJ when it comes to things she has said. I will let her know that you have a question for her and either tonight or tomorrow she should be able to answer.
