I don't know

by hh123, Jan 23, 2009 09:05PM
I'm 17 years old. Last august, my girlfriend and i decided to have sex for the first time (it was both of ours). Nothing unusual about it, it was fine afterward. But that was the only time we had it. Then about 2 and a half months ago, i started to have the urge to urinate a lot, even when i didn't have to. It was strange. I saw a doctor about it, thinking it was a urinary tract infection or something. He said that it was probably some kind of blockage, but if it didn't go away it could be an STD. It hasn't gone away. I just don't understand how it could be an STD. It was protected sex and it was both of our first times. I just really don't know what to do. I don't know who to turn to, being this young and trying to avoid confrontation with my parents.

Thanks in advance.

It can't be an std - you both were virgins.

If this is a blockage or urinary tract infection, that can be serious, and you need to get that checked out.  Since this has nothing to do with sex, since you were both virgins, then you can confidently tell your parents about this and not fear anything from it.  Trust me, they'll want to know if something is wrong with you.

Hey thanks for the reply.
I don't know if it's worth noting, but she did give me oral quite a few times. We're not together anymore. And i can't guarantee that it was the first time she had done THAT.

And my doctor tested for a UTI and it came back negative.

As Jess said - at this point you need to continue following up on this. it's not std related so it's time to pursue this with an urologist.
