I know i got it

I know i got it

I had unprotected sex 3 wks  with a and I have noticed recently a clear sticky fluid in my urine.  It never discharges, just if I observe my urine i notice a clear fluid, I have confirmed that it is sticky. I dont know how long this has been going on because I never checked for it before.  Does this sound like chlamydia?  I have no irration when I urinate.  I do notice though if I drink fluids I tend to urinate like 30-45 mins later.  Can chlamydia go away by itself?  Does this sound like chlamydia? If I do not ejaculate inside a woman is it still easy to infect?  I am waiting results from a urine test.  Please help me.  I dont mean to be bugging you.  Thanks

It could be urethritis, most likely not gonorrhea but nongonococcal urethritis (NGU).  Chlamydia is the most common but not the only cause.  Chlamydia eventually goes away, but it takes many months--during which time you would be at risk for complications and for transmitting to your sex partner(s).  Yes, if you have chlamydia, you will infect a partner even if you do not ejaculate.

Assuming the health care provider did a chlamydia test on the urine specimen, you should know soon.  I'm sure you told him or her that you were concerned about STD, so that the proper tests are being done.  I also hope and assume you have spoken with the partner you were exposed to 3 weeks ago so she can seek examination and treatment.

Don't have sex with anyone, with or without ejaculation (and with or without a condom), until you know you are uninfected and/or have been treated; and, if you return to the same partner, that she also has been treated.

Good luck--  HHH, MD

It is possible to asymptomatic genital chlamydial infection, but no genital infection in adults has been documented to persist for that long.
