I need questions answering which doctors i have seen have not been able to answer?

Hello im 19 years old and from England,

last august i had sexual contact with a girl only oral contact which was me going down on her. it is the only time i cheated on my girlfriend of a few years. 5 months later I had burning when urinating and other symptoms sore etc. I went to the Gum clinic in which I believe i was tested for everything (definitely Chlyamidia, Ghonnerea, HIV, Sphyillis and hepititis and a few others in which I do not know of the top of my head. I was negative for everything which was a relief I was dealing with a lot of stress which got me down and made me ill. Now after the results i felt great for a few months until late may in which i had slight pain in left side of my testicles and pain at tip of penis. now it has been off and on but the worry for me is the white tongue with two white sores and a few really small red spots and a little bit of discharge which is yellow... the worst thing for me is the internet which is driving me insane with different views of how long the stds can not be found in the system.. I am scared of terminal illness and obviously having something wrong with me. I have the full support of my parents who know about my problems and I have been to the hospital, doctors and call in clinic maybe 4 or 5 times a week because of the paranoia and symptoms... mentally its killing me inside and I need someone to direct me towards positive thinking and to believe that I am over worrying because its upsetting me. doctors have not told me what it could be other than an std because mainly I have been going to a gum clinic but could it be thrush or a yeast infection because of antibiotics i have taken (Doxycycline, Ciprofloxacin, Naproxcen and a few others) in the last two months for different symptoms and im mentally broken down.

Any replies will be great and thank you in advance

Welcome to our Forum.  Your post is a bit hard to follow due to your lack of punctuation but the bottom line is that you are wondering what is going on and if it could be at all related to the sexual encounter you had over a year ago.

Let's start with your sexual encounter a year ago. For a male to perform oral sex on a woman (cunnilingus) is the sexual encounter with the lowest probability of all of leading to infection, IF your partner was infected and it is unlikely that she was.  You have now proved that you were not infected during your encounter of concern with the STD testing performed 5 months after the encounter. The timing of your testing rules out STDs acquired through the encounter you have described so you can forget about that possibility.

Second, what could your symptoms be?  The white tongue and spots could be a yeast infection- these are common in person who have taken antibiotics and it sounds as though you have taken a number of antibiotics.     If these problems are concerning to you, you should see a general practitioner or internist, not an STD specialist- you have ruled out STDs.

Finally, I note that you have a bit of OCD about this.  This can be a struggle. One of the key ways to address it however is to stay off the internet. There is so much mis-information there is just fuels anxieties in persons such as you. EWH

You need to make an appointment with a doctor (my recommendation would be an internal medicine specialist) who can take a full history and examine you. Talking to someone over the phone is unlikely to be helpful.  When you do, my guess is that you will find that the processes that which have noted are not signs of anything severe and I am confident that you will find that your symptoms are not due to HIV or any other STD that you acquired through your exposure a year ago.

What you describe in no way is suggestive of herpes.

I will have little more t say from here.  EWH

Unfortunately I was not with a dentist after my name was taken off a few years ago due to not needing to go. Waiting for a dentist I have signed up with to get back to me.

I have stopped taking the medication I was on ( penile thrush treatment which was cream and oral tablets for internal and Naproxcen)

At the moment I am in the same condition.. apart from I have a few tiny tiny spots on the side of my lips; which I have only noticed because of the burning sensation it gives me when I have a drink (not very visible to the naked eye but noticeable when close to a mirror ).

When you say I should talk to an internal medicine specialist, would the best cause of action been ringing the hospital to talk to someone to book an appointment or a doctors surgery?

last question sir, I do not believe I was tested for herpes or more specifically oral herpes, could this be a possibility with the white tongue, sores, and tiny spots on lips?

regards

Many people experience white build up on their tongues for a variety of reasons, most of which are benign.  If that is a specific concern, I suggest that you speak with your dentist.  If the concerns are of a more general nature, I suggest you talk to  an internal medicine specialist who can comprehensively consider your health and concerns. Hello Doctor,

Thought i would just report my condition as we stand. Currently I from time to time am experiencing dull pain at the tip of my penis (not as regular as it was before), something which is affecting me mostly at night.

Also for a good week or so I have had a white build up on my tongue with sensitivity at the tip and the left side, little sores if you will.

When I last visited the Clinic about a week ago my doctor was very clear believing no STD was present in the body however did not offer a suggestion to what it could be; telling me to enjoy my summer and try to take my mind of it.

Believe me I am trying my best but its hard to ignore an irritation as I am having.

My GP is semi retired only being available 1 day a week and is fully booked most of the time, so im unsure on which is the next best step to take?

thank you again for your time, your doing a wonderful service on here doctor.

I apologize for the lack of punctuation doctor, I have been unwell on and off for the last 6 months and this is something which has affected me mentally and physically. Never have i been ill like this before so off course the mind drifts and plays home to bad thoughts and possibilities due to over thinking.

Thank you for your time and services
