I wasn't paying attention?

My boyfriend  and I are ready to go to the next level, but I regret to say I wasn't actually listening a month ago when he explained what he had, and why I needed to be tested before we could do anything more. He said I needed to be tested to see "if I could be infected." This made no sense to me, as it seems like there's no way I WOULDN'T be infectable, and either way, a condom would prevent anything from spreading from him to me, wouldn't it? It's not that I'm not willing to go get tested, but I'm not sure what to ask the doctor's office for, since I wasn't paying attention last month, but I also don't want to admit to him that I wasn't paying attention.

No, you have to talk with him about it.

I get that, but I was wondering if there are any stds that would stand out as being what he is talking about. Maybe anything that wouldn't be stopped by a condom, or something that I have to have a specific gene to be able to be infected, or something like that.

You need to find out what he has, simple as that.
