I recently got tests results back for herpes that was "igg positive" but "igm negative"
(i've never had any physical signs, but had an exgirlfriend who had herpes)
from everything I read, it looks like I'm positive for herpes.
but my doctor explicitly told me that I was 'exposed' but that i don't have it.
thinking this didn't sound right, I asked, 'so i DONT have it, and i can't pass it on to anyone???' and he said that this was true.
i was under the impression that igg positive means that i have it, but igm negative means that it's not a recent infection and/or i haven't had any recent outbreaks
