IgG Test Question...

At just under 7 months since the possible exposure, is an IgG test going to be completely Accurate. Can I take a negative or positive result to the bank?

My Doctor gave me an IgM ( I don't know why ) at just under 5 months and it came back negative. Now I know that the IgM test at 5 months is useless regardless if I actually have Herpes or not.

Thanks

At 7 months, you can rest assured you don't have herpes, if both the type 1 and 2 IgG results were negative.

thanks for bringing such a question,
i would wanna know if da igg comes negative after going through the course of oral acyclovir or zovirax is it still considered as CONFIRMED NEGATIVE CASE? my igg came negative after 7months too but i had also taken da course for almost a month of acyclovir 500mg every day.

I got symptoms like puss and a few ulcers on the tip area of my penis after 3months of possible exposure, showed to 2 doctors one said looks like herpes and the other said as balanitis and then i started acyclovir for almost 40days. at almost 7 months later  went to test igg and igm for herpes and da results came negative.

KINDLY ADVICE.

Yes, you can be confident with a negative IgG result at just under 7 months.  Most people will test positive if they are positive by 3-4 months.  On rare occasion it may take 6 months.  If I were you I would relax.
