Hi all i have posted here alittle while ago about my concern with Herpes. I got my Test results back from my doctor and it says that my Igg was 1.10. Now i hear that if you where below 1.0 you dont have it and if your above 5.0 you definitely have it. So can anyone help me this is test was for hsv-2

yes, I meant that you couldn't have gotten it in the past 3-4 years, because you were only having sex with a HSV II negative person.
Like grace said it is probably a false positive. get re-tested if you have symptoms.

your doctor told you you have herpes based on pms and ovary pain? Honey you need a new gyn!!!  Herpes wouldn't cause either of those symptoms.

Your partner is negative for herpes.  You were negative the first test and just barely positive this test.  I'd consider it a false + and be done with it and not worry any more about herpes!

See i thought that would be the case. Ive only had 1 sexual partner in the past 3-4 years and hes Negative. So thats why i thought it would have been weird for me to just have it our of nowhere. Oh and too your question about oral Herpes Ive never had any bumps or cold Sores there and my Test for HSV-1 Came back 0.9 which was negative.

Btw when you say "but it seems like you could have caught it at anytime in the past 3-4 years if you've had the same partner for 3-4 years."

you mean to say "but it seems like you couldn't" Right?

Anyways Thanks for all the help.

I meant how long after the last time you had sex did you get tested?  If you've been with the same partner and haven't had any symptoms - why did you get tested? ( perhaps you've already covered this in a past post but I'm obviously not remembering it all )

I would wait 1 month and then repeat your test.  Your hsv2 is too borderline to call and needs confirmatory testing.  has your partner been tested?

Well heres the thing i got tested 2 months ago and i didn't have anything, and I've been with the same partner for 3-4 years. So i never have had any symptoms. I got tested 2 days after the last time i had sex. My partner has been tested and doesn't have it. So I'm not covering anything up. Its like i got blood work done because i went to the doctor to have him check out a hormonal Problem I've been having. Like extremely bad mood swings on my Men. Cycle and Sharp pains in my right ovary. And he just tells me i have Herpes and said that i could have gotten it 10 years ago and i wouldn't have shown up until now, despite my various blood tests. By the way is that true, could it be dormant for X amount of years and just randomly pop up now?

Also i want to know if my boyfriend is Negative and I'm Positive where did it come from? Oh, and i want to know what else would make your igg count high excluding herpes that is.

Grace thanks again for your help and time.

The doctor would tell you to get re-tested because of your "borderline" result. I think you are more likely to have "false positives" if you have had cold sores (HSV I - oral herpes). Is this the case?
Also, most literature says that you will have the antibodies 6-8 weeks after exposure, and test positive, but it seems like you could have caught it at anytime in the past 3-4 years if you've had the same partner for 3-4 years.

The HSV-1 igg test was <0.9. The HSV-2 test is saying 1.1, Index is 0.0 - 0.8.
Also it says

Negative <0.09
Equivocal 0.9 - 1.0
Positive >1.0 or =1.1

I'm not sure what you mean By encounter if you mean First outbreak never had one. If you mean time i was tested 1 week and like 3 days from today(Friday). One Question though. My Boyfriend is Negative. And I've slept with him for the past 3-4 years. So where did this come from if i do have it?

Thanks for the help Grace.
