Illegal to not inform partner of STD?

I'm not asking this for myself. I know of someone whom has HSV-2 and is not telling his many partners that he has it. Is that illegal? I know it's not moral in any way. But, what about the legalities of this situation? He doesn't wear protection with any of them. I know this, because he gave me the disease. When I got tested for it, and the results were positive, I had him get tested too. The results were the same. Since then, we have gone our separate ways. I haven't been with anyone since him. But, he brags about being with other women and not using protection or telling them what he has. Is there anything that can be done with this reckless person. He's freely and knowingly exposing this to unsuspecting women.

Hi, thats a good question but i think the answer is no. There are and have been many civil cases where a person has suied and won
but unlike HIV issues and legality, this would most likely fall into  civil issues.
