Im scared this might be herpes

I had unprotected sex about 6 months ago and about 1 month ago i noticed a small red/purple bump on my buttocks its small, it doesnt hurt or itch and 2 days ago I also noticed one on my upper arm Im not sure it these two bumps are from the same thing and I dont know it the one on my buttocks would be herpes.  But the small bumps on my buttocks seems to be drying out but it doesnt seem to be going away.  If you could please ease some of my fears before I go to the doctor's I would appreciate it.  This has scared me me enough to never have unprotected sex again.

As in my primary reply, a doctor appointment is the right approach.  Between herpes and HPV, I would be more concerned about herpes, but both seem unlikely.

i looked up about hpv/genital herpes and your right it might be that now im just scared because along with these bumps ive been having abdominal pain and back pain that moves down my leg.  Those were some of the symptoms in ovarian cancer which is often times caused by hpv.  Im scared because ive had cancer before of the lymph nodes.  Im going to my a doctors appointment right away.  Thank you

This doesn't sound like herpes.  Herpes outbreaks go from onset to healing over 10-14 days and are painful.  On areas of dry skin,  the  typical initial appearance is a red bump which becomes a blister or pimple-like lesion, followed by a scab and healing.  Also, except in rare and special circumstances, herpes doesn't simultaneously cause lesions in body areas so distant from the genital area as the arm, chest, etc.

But as to what it is, I can't speculate.  If it persists, get examined.

Good luck--  HHH, MD
