Initial Herpes Breakout

by know12, Jun 23, 2009 09:10AM
Approximately 10 days ago I masturbated a CSW, using my finger to stimulate her clitoris, and later used the same hand to masturbate my self, this was my only exposure. I recently found a small sore, near a bruise on my upper thigh toeawrs the front of the thigh, it is not painful and has already scabbed over the same day I discovered it.  How likely it that it is HSV2?

by Edward W Hook, MD, Jun 23, 2009 09:15AM
There is virtually no chance that this is herpes.  Herpes is not transferred from an infected person to another person on fingers.  In  the unlikely circumstance that your CSW partner has active herpes as you masturbated her, if you were going to get herpes it would appear on your finger, not your thigh.  In addition the characteristics of the lesion, the absence of discomfort and the rapidity with which it scabbed over all support the idea that it was not HSV.

You have no reason to worry that this might be HSV or that you got HSV from the exposure you describe. I would not recommend testing of any sort and urge you not to worry.  I hope this comment helps you to accomplish that.  EWH

You mentioned in your reply the possibility of geeting whitlow, is this a common  risk, with or without an abrasion on the finger?

No nerpetic whitlows are rare and you would know if you had one.  As I said, you have nothing to worry about.  EWH

the patch/sore is still pesent, it is discolored, darker than the surrounding skin and rough to the touch, could this be genital warts, cout GW develop on the upper front of the thigh, away from the groin/inner thigh area?

The lesion you describe is most unlikely to be an STD of any sort.,  If you cannot stop worrying about this, I would recommend that you see a dermatologist.  EWH
