Irritated Inflamed Skin on Penis

My penis has been irritated and inflamed for about 6 months. There are no visible symptoms aside from minor redness. Rubbing against fabric as I'm walking causes major discomfort. I stopped my normal exercise routine, biking and running.

I've been to 2 primary care physicians and one dermatologist. The next step is another dermatologist.

The first doctor did all possible blood work for STDs, which turned up negative. All of the doctors seemed to brush my problem off as sensitive skin. Recently, the last woman I slept with (8 months ago) told me she tested positive for  Chlamydia. She is also a physician and called in the one dose antibiotic for me to take as a precaution. My problems still persist about 6 weeks after that.

The first 2 doctors prescribed steroid creams to use for short term. Both seemed to provide relief, but never healed my skin. Currently I'm using Elidel and Vasoline Intensive Care to moisturize.

I am extremely concerned that in fact I do have some form of asymptomatic STD or disease that I could spread to a future girlfriend or even cause fertility problems. I have been avoiding any intimate contact. I am really nervous that they are overlooking something. I'm currently seeing a woman who I think I will be with for a long time and want to be sure I am not going to spread something to her. Are these doctors brushing me off too easily? Are there other steps I could be taking?

You have had this problem for 6 months and you tested negative for STD's-good sign. You slept with a woman 8 months ago. Even if you had gotten an STD from her it would have shown up in the tests you took at 6 months.

I would look past an STD since you have been tested and came out clean. I would continue to work with your Dr's on finding out the cause.
